Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park
Every day of the week from 8 a.m. until sundown, locals and visitors alike flock to Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park to enjoy some of the most beautiful Florida nature. You can come here to take a dip in the water, go hiking along the nature trails, look out for birds like woodpeckers and eagles, or go fishing to try to catch pompano, whiting, and others.
This State Park is located at 1900 E. Gulf Beach Drive. Vehicles with two to eight people will need to pay a small parking fee upon entrance.
St. George Island Lighthouse
The St. George Island Lighthouse is the perfect place to go if there’s a history buff in your family or if you just want to know a bit more about the area. The original lighthouse was built in 1833, but after it fell into the Gulf of Mexico more than 15 years ago, a reconstruction was created on the original site. When you visit today, you have the chance to climb to the top and picture what the lightkeepers of old may have seen from their perch.
You’ll find the St. George Island Lighthouse at 2B East Gulf Beach Drive. Hours vary by season, so check their website for more information. Free parking is available on site.
Journeys of St. George Island
One of the best kid activities in St. George Island is heading out on the water, and Journeys of St. George Island can help. They offer kayak and standup paddleboard rentals, boat tours of the area, and even fishing charters for new and experienced anglers alike. If you’re interested in watersports, come here to rent a paddleboard or kayak for a few hours or up to a whole week. For something a bit calmer, embark on a dolphin cruise or sunset tour. Finally, there are four fishing charters to choose from, offering something for every age and skill level.

Jolly Roger Beach Shop
Another great spot for equipment rentals is Jolly Roger Beach Shop. Whether you’re exploring the island by land or by sea, they’ve got you covered! Just a few of their abundant rental options include golf carts, bikes, fishing poles and equipment, kayaks, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and floats. This shop has been serving St. George Island for more than 30 years, so stop by and see what all the hype is about!

Island Adventures
If you want to pick out a new piece of apparel or rent some equipment while you’re in town, Island Adventures is the place to go. They’ve been in business for more than 20 years now and have become nothing short of a local staple. You can rent everything from bikes and beach chairs to fishing carts and beach wheelchairs. You’ll also find a wide range of apparel and fishing gear available for purchase.
Island Adventures can be found at 105 East Gulf Beach Drive and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
