What to Do
First things first: what can you do at St. George Island State Park? Perhaps the better question is: what can’t you do? There are seemingly endless outdoor activities for you to enjoy.
Biking throughout St. George Island State Park is a great way to exercise and get in touch with nature. The park contains four miles of paved road, five miles of stabilized road, and 3.5 miles of nature trails for you to explore! You might also want to grab a pair of binoculars and look to the skies to spot nearly 300 species of birds living within the park!
Are you interested in spending some time on the water? St. George Island State Park is an excellent place for boating and fishing. Small offshore boats are great for navigating the bay, where you can find species like pompano, redfish, sea trout, flounder, and more.
If you’re more interested in staying on land, try exploring the hiking trails throughout the park. You can explore the 2.5-mile path to Gap Point or trek along the 1-mile East Slough Overlook Trail. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for some incredible wildlife viewing.
While in the park, you can also take advantage of covered picnic pavilions, a playground, two restroom facilities, cold water showers, and more. There are plenty of accessible amenities, including beach wheelchairs, mobility mats, an observation platform, and more, so no one has to miss out on the fun.
Where Is It Located?
You can find St. George Island State Park at 1900 E. Gulf Beach Drive, just a short trip away from our most popular St. George Island rentals. You have to make your way south on FL-300 S toward Gulf Beach Drive W. You’ll then turn left onto Big Bend Scenic Byway Coastal Trail/Gulf Beach Drive W/St. Co. Road 300. Follow this road for 7.8 miles, and you’ll find yourself at St. George Island State Park!

While it’s free to enjoy and explore the park, you will be charged a parking fee of just $6 per vehicle.
