Yes, you can reserve bikes in advance. The process varies per agency, so please contact one of the providers mentioned above to inquire about reservations and deliveries. We recommend reserving at least a few weeks in advance during peak season to ensure you are able to get the right number of bikes in the appropriate sizes.

Are there local bike laws that I need to be aware of?

Yes, the state of Florida has bike specific regulations that should be kept in mind. Bicyclists must obey all traffic signs and signals. The number of riders on any bicycle is limited to the maximum number for which the bike was designed; no handle or spike riding allowed.

At least one hand must be help on the handles at all time while riding a bike. And, every bike must be equipped with working brakes that are capable of stopping the bike within 25 feet. Don’t worry — any bike that you rent through a local agency will be road ready.

Use common courtesy when sharing the road and obey all posted signs and signals during your rides. Unlike in many states, bike riding on the sidewalk is legal in the state of Florida. However, keep in mind that bikes on a sidewalk or at a crosswalk have the same responsibilities as pedestrians.

Bikes must be equipped with the proper lighting and reflectors at night, and riding with headphones is considered a distraction and is illegal.
